How quickly you can feel at home when you hanging out with Cristina and Brian. Such a super fun couple and celebration at the Sunset Room in the National Harbor. This wedding was nonstop party that started on the party bus where we stopped in DC for some quick Capital bridal party portraits. The reception had a packed dance floor and the evening ending with fireworks and their super cool boat departure. Cristina’s Dad stole the evening with his best ever Father speech! There was such great expressions by all as he had them crying, in shock followed by laughter throughout. It seems Brian now knows where he stands with family announcements being made when the Beattles are playing. We so enjoyed ourselves at this wedding and wish them both nothing but the best.

We’re so excited to be sharing Melissa and Brian’s wedding. Melissa works with the wonderful ladies at The Enchanted Florist and it was a honor to be photographing their wedding. The day was full of emotion and the details were seriously over the top stunning. You know this florist’s flowers were absolutely gorgeous! It was truly special to see someone so dear to us getting married to such a great guy (we think Brian rocks too). There were such great moments throughout the day and are far too many favorites throughout the day that we want to share. Thanks guys it was such a pleasure!

Now that Cristina’s married I can finally share a few from her bridal portraits in the studio. The beautiful bouquet is from the lovely ladies at Enchanted Florist in Old Town. I so love this beautiful pink, white and green arrangement highlighting my favorite flowers peonies.

Courtney and Dana had a great laid back wedding at Whitehall Manor. We so loved this one and had been looking forward to their wedding since we first meet. They just walked out during their guests cocktail hour and got married. There wasn’t a bridal party nor did they have the traditional ceremony. It’s such a nice touch when a friend performs the ceremony. Courtney had a few DIY elements and the guests enjoyed the candy buffet and scratch off lotto tickets. While technically they didn’t have a first dance they did join their guests and danced throughout the night. It was perfect and a great celebration which really matched their personalities! Below are a few of our favorites:

I’m so happy to have meet Ashleigh and Gabe and to have photographed their wedding at the Regency at Dominion Valley. I had the pleasure getting to know both of them before the wedding when we did their engagement session. It was nice to learn a little bit about their pasts and what their future goals were. At the wedding I witnessed this amazing support system they have and we enjoyed seeing their family and friends celebrate throughout the day.
Besides the emotions throughout the day there was tons of fun captured. This wedding didn’t lack excitement and the dance floor was packed throughout the night! The guests were break dancing, Gabe and his son shared a few of their moves, an entertaining garter dance, and the best man did the splits multiple times! One poor guest broke his foot and with tons of doctors in the house I became pretty popular since I had the evidence documented. I’m sure that a lot of their guests spent the following day recovering and this is one wedding I know I’ll never forget!
We wish Ashleigh and Gabe a lifetime of love and happiness Thanks guys.

Jessica and Derek choose the front grounds of the Belmont Country Club to have their ceremony that has a beautiful mountain view and with all the rain lately the spring colors really popped. As they exchanged their vows these two were so cute to watch you couldn’t help but to notice the way they admire each other.
Their wedding colors of silver and pink were highlighted in the details throughout the wedding. With just the right touch in the floral arrangements from Growing Wild Floral and the sweet pink treats at the candy bar. You can always find kids of all ages hanging out around the sugar. We had too many favorites of Jessica smiling and laughing during their first dance. As the night progressed and the dance floor packed one of their friends became a highlight and provided entertainment not only there but later with his perfect Carlton impression minus the splits (next time I sure). I can bet that Derek will tell you to leave your car at home when you get married as his groomsmen had a little fun with his ride. Thankfully it wasn’t their get away car. Seriously this wedding didn’t lack it’s moments and we had such a great time and we wish these two the best!

When Nikia and Andre told me that they had booked the American Visionary Arts Museum for their wedding and reception, I immediately wanted to shoot their wedding. I have worked there before and it is a wonderful venue, offering so many unique places for portraits, as well as a stunning backdrop for the wedding events. I was also thrilled when they revealed in our meeting that they were expecting a baby, and that I would get to meet him at the wedding! And what an adorable little man he turned out to be!
Nikia and Andre hired Bellwether Events and decided on a Willy Wonka (the original movie version) themed wedding. Nikia and Andre wed under an arch covered in 35mm and 8mm film, a literal interpretation of their movie theme. When they exchanged their very personal vows, there was not a dry eye in the house.
I could go on and on about the details at their reception. The amazing half-wedding cake, the movie quotes, the candy and chocolate bar, and the 3D menu card. You could hear the guests chatting about how stunning and great the wedding was. It was an incredibly original and colorful and wonderful wedding and I was so thrilled to be a part of it. Congratulations to Nikia, Andre and little Phoenix!

Oh I almost forgot that Nikia use the holiday gift I gave my brides. A ring dish from Paloma Nest
