Susanna + Michael : Collingwood Museum and Top of the Town Wedding

Susanna and Michael met each other in a library and decided to get married at the library of Collingwood Museum. They survived a long distance relationship and I was wowed by the love between these two is just honestly amazing. During formals they had me cracking up and thinking wow I have been married a long time. The passion and love was just great to be around. The ceremony was perfect and had so many meaningful touches. The couple provided me with plenty of time for formals and we even snuck into DC and were able to get some quick images at FDR Memorial. The reception was held at Top of the Town. I love April weddings the grass is green and so much is in bloom! The grounds at Collingwood are just beautiful. Top of the Town has the amazing city backdrop that the wedding guests just love. Even though I have lived in Northern Virginia my whole life I still love to look at the city at night. Most of the time you forget just how beautiful it is here. Hallie and Brian’s Wedding Hollin Hall

Hallie and Brian were married at Hollin Hall. When I first meet with Hallie and Brian they told me the wedding was about being surrounded by friends and family and I think they achieved it. When we arrived at the site the rain had stopped but the grounds were still very wet. Hallie and Brian were troopers and still ventured outside on the grounds to get some formals of just the two of them. Hollin Hall has a beautiful Unitarian Church off to the side which was perfect. Hallie spent some time on one of my favorite sites Etsy and got some very cute touches. A girl can spend her paycheck there. The couple had a Bluegrass band playing. It was such a nice touch. By the end of the reception the sun was actually breaking through the clouds and the blue sky popped out. So picturesque. Below are some highlights from the day. Congrats to both of you!

Laurie + Dana’s at Dumbarton Oaks

Laurie and Dana have such great personalities as it showed during their engagement session! Love it. When I meet Laurie she was just finishing up school and I must admit more then a little stressed out. I didn’t even get to meet Dana and I realize now they are firecrackers together.

They took me to one of my new favorite spring locations that has been on my must shot at lists for some time. Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown (they are a little strict with professional photography). It was such a great way to avoid the Cherry Blossom crowds (ok not the traffic but the human crowds). I can not wait to see both of you guys soon and thanks so much for such a great time.

Rachel + Ben are getting married!

Wow my couples have been blowing me away this year and Rachel and Ben are no exception! We had a great session in Old Town Alexandria on Sunday. I really enjoyed learning more about these two. They shared some great stories about how they met and dated. I really felt the connection from these two. I can’t wait to see you both in June.

Keisha + James 3/28/09

Keisha and James celebrated their marriage at the elegant and historic Vanderbilt Mansion on Fisher Island in Florida and it was absolutely spectacular! Their sunset ceremony really enhanced the pink color palette chosen by the couple and added to the romantic feel of the evening. Beautiful jazz music set the mood as Keisha walked down the aisle to meet James under a stunning banyon tree surrounded by family and friends. The romantic mood and color palette spilled over into the reception where both modern and classic table arrangements were highlighted with beautiful pink lighting. Keisha and James really paid a lot of attention to detail and it certainly paid off. Theirs was an absolutely stunning destination wedding and I am so grateful that they allowed me to get the chance to know them and be a part of their special day. Congratulations Keisha and James!
