Meredith and Zack flew in for their engagement session in Georgetown and we hung out on Water Street. We were able to have their session yesterday before the rain . We tried to have one in December when they were visiting family but the weather wasn’t on our side. Temps weren’t an issue for these two. They so rocked their session and were up for anything! Below are some of my favorites. I can’t wait to see you two in July.
Just wanted to give a little update before I leave for the weekend. I will be in Florida this weekend shooting Keisha + James’ destination ceremony at Fisher Island. When I return I will be celebrating my 9 year wedding anniversary 3/31. Trust me time really does flies when you are having fun. I have been with Chris since I was just barely 20 (yes I am older than 29). Oh the times we have shared together. I will be back in the office on the 1st and shooting a fabulous bridal on the 2nd in the studio. Hello wedding season!! Hopefully I will get to blog my great engagement session yesterday with Merideth and Zach before I leave. I was so happy it didn’t start raining till I drove home last night.
I plan on enjoying myself but I am finally down 14.8 pounds and only have 10 left. My buddy that is going with me wants me to eat! She is so bad. If only I could come back with 10 more to go 
I will be responding to emails and calls as time permits and back to normal on the 1st. Of course you can always contact my office assistant Katie @ Katie@abrittonphotography.com for any emergencies. I can’t wait to share all the amazing images soon!

It’s been sometime since I have shared my weight loss struggles. But looking back I am doing the happy dance of seeing what I last shared on my blog. I knew it would take me at least 4 months to reach my goal (since this isn’t my first time). But more importantly I know it’s going to be harder to stay focused and keep the weight off. So I only have 11.6 more to go!
“One of the good things about meeting new people through photography is that you get the opportunity to meet some extremely interesting and creative personalities along the way. I first got a chance to meet Allison Britton at a get together for area photographers here in northern Virginia. And i’m sure that anyone who has met her will tell you that you will remember the experience. We have had several chances to talk about photography in the past few weeks and I have been thankful that she is both helpful, imformative, and generally fun to hang out with. Last weekend I got an opportunity to hang out with her as she did a couple of engagement sessions and though we may have different styles, you can certainly see why she is successful. Her visible comfort with different situations, her connection with her clients, and of course, the resulting images all taught me a little about the industry and a little about her. Keisha and James meet me Monday for their session in Old Town Alexandria. We had a great evening getting to know each other a little better. I actually have already spent a day with Keisha making a special present for James for Valentine’s Day. Monday was just a chance to know James a little better before the big day at the end of this month. We had a lot of fun walking around and watching Keisha in those shoes gave me a new respect of high heels. When you’re 6 foot you just don’t get to wear cute shoes like that often, ok never! Next time I see these two it will be in Florida at Fisher Island. I am excited to start the season again after such a big break! I know the wedding is going to be amazing! Just a few of the highlights from this session.

Women in weddings had their second meeting on Monday and it was a huge success! The guest speaker was Sonny Gangley, Chief Marketing Officer from Wedding Wire.
It was very interesting to hear about how Wedding Wire became such a huge success so quickly. Sonny touched base on social networking, discussed how Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and many others are changing the way we market and network with each other. Jeanna from Stonewall Golf Club hosted the event this month, Jeanna is just amazing and the lunch was great.
Desert by Celebration Cakes even though I am on a diet it was too good to resist so I only ate the best parts (that is the icing of course) The group was about 90 women this time! Awesome ladies. Each lady specializes in some form of making your wedding perfect. The flower arrangements were donated by Graceful flowers by Patricia, LLC
Next month the event will be at the fabulous Regency at Dominion Valley. Jennifer and her staff will be hosting the event. I can’t wait! The guest speaker is the wonderful Cindie Reinhold of Brides& Weddings of Northern Virginia.
