My son just had to have a coconut and I just had to play with my new 16-35 lens.

Chris rocked out putting holes and grommets in my pictures for the backdrop. He is so awesome and I know it was a lot of work. I will be hanging out at booth 102 at George Mason on Sunday. Here are some silly images of the pictures.

My good friend Jamie invited me to hang out with 3 amazing models from Model Mayhem last Saturday. It was awesome to play around w/lighting and angles in an extremely edgy location. I loved it!
It is always so hard to choose.

Since taking my photography to another level I really shocked myself with my ability to shoot images of something happening in life I am not sure I could ever look out without the camera. I feel I am to document what I see. But very rarely do I attend a wedding and not cry. I am not sure why my emotions take over me; I watch the bride and groom when they first see each other and feel something magical in myself take over and smile inside remembering my special day with Chris. I watch the ring bearer and flower girl run up the isle looking for their Mother and smile knowing they are just like my children. I hear the speeches and laugh and cry. But lately the Mother and son dances are really hitting home with me. I think of my son one day finding his love and leaving home to start a new life. I watch the Father and Daughter dance knowing one day Chris will have to do the same with Lauren and how I will be sitting on the side crying and laughing just like they are. Then the speeches start and all the tears I have attempted to hold in start flowing. The family and friends start to speak from their hearts that’s it I am attempting to hide my tears behind my camera. This really happened to me at Laura and Rich’s wedding. I saw so much tears of joy and knew exactly what Rich’s Mom was feeling and trying to keep inside. Laura’s sister had me in tears and thankfully made me laugh too. This wedding was full of love and I was so happy to be there and know why I do this. Besides being creative I get to be part of a lot of amazing people’s lives. It is not my norm to talk about weddings because they are all awesome, amazing and special. One never tops the love and beauty of another one but for once the person that never writes anything because frankly it’s not my strong point did. Thanks for having me guys and I look forward to the rest of my weddings this year knowing I will get to do it over and over again.

I had a blast with Sabrina and Eddie last Friday. It was such a pretty day to walk around DC. These two are super sweet and really allowed me to be creative during the session. I can’t wait to shoot the wedding and can’t believe its right around the corner. See you both soon!

Lindsey and Devin’s were married at Oxon Hill Manor. Their “MD wedding” was a little different for me since I personally know Lindsey for lets just say a long time. Even though they are not technically family they are “my family”. Chris and I were both honored to be guests to such a beautiful wedding that spun into me documenting it.
Lindsey was more then a little late to her wedding and boy was Dad (George) freaking out! But Devin was very calm or at least he appeared to be composed. After the girls finally arrived the wedding came together and everything was beautiful! I think after George walked Lindsey down the isle he was finally able to be his fun self again. I did capture a couple of deep breaths after giving his little girl away (I don’t blame him one bit). But I checked Devin out and he personally passed my test. I will say he completes Lindsey!
Happy to report my children as far as I know stayed out of trouble (if they didn’t please lets just let me believe they were). Lauren even got a dance and was happy to show off all her moves. Maybe all those lessons are paying off?
Congrats to you both and I was honored to be a part of your special day and witness such a beautiful ceremony.

I normally don’t show groom’s prep because my second shots it. Here are two that Erl took of Devin getting ready.

Lindsey arrival

Probably my favorite of Lindsey

Isn’t he the cutest?

I loved that the 2nd flower girl wanted to pick up the mess. She can come play at my house anytime ![]()

wow the emotion brings me back to when my Father gave me away

What a touching ceremony when your brother does the service.

I have no idea who that cute girl is (no it’s not mini me;)

I have a date set June 1st to do trash the dress images at my Parent’s river house in Woodstock. If you are interested in taking fun images in your dress that you didn’t get on your wedding day now that your special day is over with a group of photographers please email me for details (you can be one of my old brides or not). You can always bring your groom along to join in the fun. If you have a bridesmaid or two interested that is also cool. This will be a free session with a makeup artist. If you want to do something w/your hair that is on you. I am offering time for images (5 images) from your session. Email me for details allison@abrittonphotography.com

Feel free to pass it along to a friend we are also doing models that day.
